The PTA is the largest volunteer advocacy association working exclusively on behalf of all children. For more than 100 years, we’ve promoted the education, health and safety of children, youth and families. All students at Dana Hills High School are eligible for the Dolphin Pride Award which is based on satisfactory academic achievement, outstanding performance, outstanding citizenship, and school service. Students who earn the award for three or four years are recognized at the Senior Awards night with a medallion. This medallion may be worn at graduation. Service R equirements (15 hours of SCHOOL SERVICE per year) These are the pre-approved school service organizations that you may work for in order to receive school credit: PTSA-sponsored programs/events (Recycling, Registration, Dolphin Experience, etc) SOCSA - attending sch Dolphin Force Grad Nite SOS/Paths the Library any CUSD-approved tutoring or instructional program donation of home-made baked goods to school events donation of blood to school-sponsored blood drives donation of maximum 20 bags of recycling (2 bags = 1 school service hour) - https://www.danahillsptsa.org/recycling No credit will be given for service hours with teachers, teams, clubs or for individual tutoring unless you receive approval via DP email. *Donation of Baked Goods: A maximum of three (3) total hours will be given throughout the school year for donated items. All baked goods donated must be home-made. No credit will be given for store bought food, beverages, etc. **Blood Donations: Two (2) total hours will be given to a student for each blood donation. Return to Programs Teri O'Brien Memorial Scholarship DANA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL PTSA SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP (Merit & Community Service) DANA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL PTSA SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP - SPECIAL EDUCATION (Merit & Community Service) TERI LYNN O’BRIEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (Financial Need, Merit & Community Service) California State PTSA Scholarships Instructions 1 DUE DATE & SUBMISSION: The Teri Lynn O’Brien Memorial Scholarship was formed in the spring of 2010 to commemorate the life of Teri O’Brien, DHHS PTSA President from 2005-2007. In recognition of Teri’s dedication to the students of CUSD and Dana Hills High School, and her strong commitment to education, the family and friends of Teri O’Brien have established the Teri Lynn O’Brien Memorial Scholarship. A minimum $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior with financial need, who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing their education, maintained solid academics, and has demonstrated a commitment to their school and community through volunteer service. 2 REQUIREMENTS Financial Need Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (unweighted) Strong citizenship and character Applicants must be student members of Dana Hills High School PTSA as of March 14th of the current school year. - Click Here to Join Online 3 GPA / TRANSCRIPTS: Login to Aeries (https://sites.google.com/a/capousd.org/parent-and-student-portal/ ), click on GRADES > TRANSCRIPTS. Our teaching-oriented approach will help students in the classroom as well as on their standarized tests. NOTE: Our Boot Camps are not the same as the online mock SAT/ACT being offered by Futureology. The mock exams are a chance to take the full-length exam under "mock" conditions so you can see how you might score without the score going on your record. STATUS OF TEST OPTIONAL / TEST BLIND ADMISSIONS: The Cal State system and the UC system for the Class of 2024 are “test blind” (they will not consider test scores for admissions or scholarship).
